Anti-inflammatory negative-PRAL foods and buffer systems against subclinical acidosis

    Introduction

High-protein diets, low consumption of negative-PRAL foods, excessive exercise, increased weight and waist circumference, elevated levels of glucocorticoids due to excessive stress and persistent activation of the stress system, superficial breathing and/or altered respiratory rhythm and excessive intake of high-kitchen salt (NaCl) foods, such as for example white bread and its by-products, cold cuts, salami and seasoned cheese play in changing pH to subclinical acidosis.s.

It is indispensable for our health to maintain proper pH levels.
High-positive-PRAL diets affect the blood acid/base characteristics (extracellular subclinical acidosis) – albeit less so in normal-weight patients, whereas in those with diseases or who are overweight the impact is more significant and long-lasting.

For this reason, many diseases benefit from a diet that is high in vegetables, low in sodium (NaCl) and supplemented (where needed) with buffer systems.

    Conclusion

Melcalin Base is a buffer supplement that contain, besides sodium carbonate, also magnesium and calcium, as the latter two provide support in case of increased calcium and magnesium excretion (which typically occurs with increased net acid excretion, i.e. high NAE).
Our body has counter-regulation processes (regulated by vitamin D and by increased bowel reabsorption) that protect us from a sudden increase in calcium excretion. Still, this counter-regulation lacks magnesium.
Benefits can be found by taking Melcalin Base on an empty stomach (e.g.: 3 pills before breakfast, or before lunch or before dinner), with each pill accounting for approximately 10% of the RDA (recommended daily amount).
In sports, this supplement is an excellent solution if taken before training as a buffer storage and after training to curb the effects of the temporary and natural production of post-exercise acidosis (3 pills before and/or after training).
