Introduction
The chronic fatigue syndrome is a condition in which the patient feels a strong sense of fatigue, unless there is an organic cause and a clear objective diagnostic marker1; However, several studies point to a fault in the mitochondrial function a reduced ability to increase mitochondrial energy production under stress10,16 that would contribute to reduced physical endurance during exercise2.
It is estimated that at least 1 in 400 people in developed countries are affected by this syndrome. The causes are numerous and may include poor eating habits, use of medications, poor quality of sleep, stress and chronic inflammation, physical inactivity and sarcopenia (vd. BIA-ACC)23,28,29.
Amongst the nutrients that may come to our aid are vitamins and mineral salts in addition to the Coenzyme Q-10, an organic molecule useful for the production of cellular energy.
Melcalin Nimet combines the properties of Coenzyme Q10 and L-carnitine, in addition to minerals such as copper and zinc and antioxidant substances such as beta carotene, extract of red vine and vitamin E, in order to provide the body of a proper intake of minerals, vitamins and essential substances useful to ensure adequate production efficiency and a reduction in the feeling of fatigue.
Melcalin Vita does contain a combination of different vitamins and minerals including B group vitamins, vitamin C, calcium, chromium, iron and minerals such as potassium and magnesium.
Useful elements to reduce the feeling of fatigue
L-Carnitina
Studies in the elderly have evaluated the administration of L-carnitine noting a gradual improvement of skeletal muscle mass (Skeletal muscle) 3 and a simultaneous and significant reduction of muscle fatigue The concentration of carnitine in the body tends to decrease in parallel with the loss of skeletal muscle mass, an event that occurs especially with advancing age; administration of levocarnitine stimulates a reduction of adipose tissue (AT), an improvement of skeletal muscle mass and physical and cognitive abilities as well as reducing the feeling of fatigue13.
Other researches have shown that the administration of small doses of L-carnitine is beneficial in patients undergoing hemodialysis who accused pain, muscle weakness, fatigue and cramps14,15.
Q10 Coenzym
Several research focuses on the relationship between reduced levels of coenzyme Q10 in the mitochondria of muscle cells and myalgia: the progressive decrease of the CoQ10 is a condition that occurs especially during treatment with statins and causes the appearance of muscle pain that very often pushes the patient to reduce the dosage or discontinue the therapy 5. There are also studies showing that oral administration of CoQ10during supramaximal exercises led to a decrease in the subjective feeling of fatigue and physical performance11,12.
Vitamines and Minerals
Several studies have shown that patients with chronic fatigue syndrome have benefited from taking vitamin supplements: in particular the intake of B group vitamins; the lack of vitamin B12 is an example of this as it is associated with an increase in depressive symptoms and fatigue (see Questionnaire MUS). Other sources indicate that even supplementation with vitamin C is able to improve the framework of these issues4.
The positive effects in relation to this symptomatology are also exercised indirectly, as the B vitamins, in particular B6 and B12, as well as vitamin C and copper, have a positive effect in iron metabolism8,9,10,19,24,25,26,27; this mineral can affect physical performance, immunity, temperature control and cognitive function6,7,17,18.
As for the symptoms of fatigue also Niacin and Ac.Pantotenico are to be considered as effective20,21,22.
Conclusions
Melcalin Nimet combines the properties of Coenzyme Q10 and L-carnitine, indispensable elements in cellular processes that lead to the production of energy, essential to guide cellular and synthesis activities; its intake provides the body a proper intake of minerals, vitamins and essential substances useful to ensure sufficient energy production, a decrease in the feeling of fatigue, improved skeletal muscle mass (Skeletal muscle) and an excellent antioxidant activity.
A decrease of the chronic fatigue symptomatology can also be obtained in combination with the intake of Melcalin Vita that contains most of the vitamin complex of group B, vitamin C, E and beta carotene, copper, zinc, niacin and Ac. pantothenic. The B vitamins, especially B12 and B6, as well as vitamin Cand copper, have a positive effect in iron metabolism whose deficiency is implicated in chronic fatigue symptoms.
